Our Story
Norms Diner was established in 1957 in honour of Norman Harris
A local legend in Anglesea Street, Hamilton, New Zealand. Norman was known for his warm and welcoming personality, and his love of good food and good company. He spent many years running a small diner in the heart of the city, and it quickly became a gathering place for the local community.
In honour of Norman’s legacy, Normans Nephew Graeme Harris decided to open Norms Diner as a tribute to the man who had brought so much joy and comfort to his childhood. Graeme wanted to continue Norms tradition of serving delicious American Diner food.
From the moment the doors of Norms Diner opened in Canterbury, it was clear that the spirit of Norman Harris was still alive and well. Customers flock to the diner to taste the classic American street food and enjoy the warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Every day, the team at Norms Diner strives to live up to Norman’s legacy and create an experience that is just as warm and welcoming as the one he created all those years ago. And with every bite of their food, customers are reminded of the spirit of Norman Harris and the joy that good food and good company can bring.
